Exterior car covers, on the other hand, keep windows from getting scraped and a paint job from getting chipped. They come in roof-mount umbrella, folding box-type, tent, and even expandable cocoon variants. The most common, however, are simple plastic sheets, made sturdy, with tie-downs for anchoring. They're usually made to repel dirt and water. Some custom car covers even have pockets to conceal body parts like side mirrors, not to mention exterior accessories like spoilers.
