OEM BMW Pedal Kits
No matter what BMW car or SUV you drive, it can have up to three pedals. What each does, every driver's familiar with. The accelerator is located on the driver's-side floor on the far right. It speeds a vehicle up when pressed. The longer and further one presses it, the quicker an engine revs and the faster one goes. The brake is the pedal in the middle of the driver's-side floor just left of the gas pedal. It slows a vehicle when one presses it. Under the hood, there's a lot more going on, though. A master brake cylinder conducts brake fluid through brake hoses and brake lines, clamping brake calipers on brake rotors. This causes friction with brake pads, puts mechanical pressure on tires, and activates brake lights. Eventually, the vehicle stops. Some BMW sports cars with manual transmissions have clutch pedals. They let one change gears when accelerating or braking. Press a clutch, and an engine and transmission smooth out the gear-shift process by temporarily disengaging.
